about the artist
Kaitlin Kratky is a painter based in Los Angeles, California. She received her BFA in Painting from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and her MA in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics from the University of Leeds, UK. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including Benson First Fridays and Radial Arts Center in Omaha, Ne., and SLUTWalk in Los Angeles, Cal. Her work has been featured in numerous Nebraska publications, such as Magic of Murals by PBS and in the Omaha World Herald, as well used for cover art and book illustrations for young adult novels. She currently works in Los Angeles and maintains a private studio focused on large-scale semi-surrealism and figurative compositions that fuse together her personal experiences with folklore narratives.
